‘continentes como semillas’ Brings La Chola Poblete, Niño de Elche and Pedro G. Romero to La Casa Encendida, Madrid
The exhibition ‘continentes como semillas,’ curated by Manuela Moscoso, will be held at La Casa Encendida in Madrid from 10 September 2026 to 10 January 2027, following its debut at CARA in New York. The showcase includes works by La Chola Poblete, featuring her drawings and sculptures, sound and performance by Niño de Elche, and archival contributions from Pedro G. Romero. The title, drawing inspiration from June Jordan, emphasizes themes of displacement. The collaborative project by Niño de Elche and Romero, initiated in 2023, delves into colonial trade routes through flamenco, particularly the Manila Galleon (1565–1815). Performances are scheduled for September and November, with Romero leading a course on archives from 17 to 20 September.
