CONTEMPORALIS: Building Cultural Bridges Between Italy and France
Established in 2021 in Paris by Roberta Malavasi and Riccardo Valentini, CONTEMPORALIS is a non-profit cultural organization dedicated to fostering dialogue between the contemporary art communities of Italy and France. The association enhances artist visibility and mobility through various initiatives, including residencies, exhibitions, prizes, and networking opportunities. After relocating to Paris in 2011, Malavasi and Valentini recognized the lack of representation for Italian artists at international fairs. CONTEMPORALIS collaborates with the Italian Cultural Institute of Paris, AMACI, and the IN-EDITA project to link emerging Italian and French artists with curators and collectors. The Prix CONTEMPORALIS honors artists engaged in research-driven projects, with the founders highlighting the significance of residencies as a means to strengthen its global influence.
