Concha Ibáñez Centenary Exhibition Opens at Museu d'Art de Girona
"La evocación del paisaje," the first exhibition in Catalonia dedicated to Concha Ibáñez since her passing in 2022, is currently on display at the Museu d'Art de Girona, coinciding with her centenary. Curated by Elina Norandi, this showcase emphasizes landscape art, highlighting Ibáñez's distinctive artistic style, which blends construction and abstraction. Rather than painting outdoors, she developed "series" based on sketches and photographs from her Barcelona studio. Ibáñez launched her career with a solo exhibition at Sala Jaimes in 1960 and continued to showcase her work for sixty years. As the daughter of Andalusian immigrants, she portrayed various regions, with her interpretations of Castile gaining significant acclaim. The exhibition will be available until January 10 at the museum.
