Comme des Garçons Revives Six Magazine as Installation at Dover Street Market London

exhibition · 2026-10-13

Rei Kawakubo’s publication, Six, which debuted in 1988, is making a comeback as a spatial installation at Dover Street Market London, set to open on 13 October for a month coinciding with Frieze London. This showcase occupies the Haymarket windows and ground floor, representing the most extensive display of Six since 2016. It follows earlier installations at Dover Street Market Paris in March and at the Comme des Garçons store in Aoyama, Tokyo. Adrian Joffe mentions that these three installations will be the only ones globally. The original magazine published eight issues until 1991, designed by Tsuguya Inoue. This year, Six has re-emerged as printed direct mail for 2026, showcasing new works by Jack Davison and Flor Garduño, along with a collection of 12 T-shirt styles available in-store.
