Comedian Russell Howard Announces The Felix Foundation After Baby Son's Death

Comedian Russell Howard disclosed that his infant son, Felix, passed away shortly after his birth earlier this year. In their statement, Howard and his wife Cerys referred to this as "the most devastating time of our lives," expressing gratitude for the "extraordinary compassion, kindness and humanity" shown by hospital staff. They received support from a bereavement midwife named Lauren, who had faced a similar loss and retrained to assist other families. Howard emphasized that her care "meant more to us than we could ever put into words." Consequently, they established The Felix Foundation to aid families dealing with miscarriage, stillbirth, and related losses. A fundraising event, the Stand-Up Gala, is scheduled for February at London’s O2 Arena, featuring comedians such as Michael McIntyre and Jimmy Carr, who are performing pro bono. Howard, 46, known for his work on Mock The Week and Russell Howard's Good News, has been with Cerys, an NHS doctor, since 2004; they welcomed another son in August 2024. He recently performed at the Edinburgh Fringe and is on a UK stand-up tour.
