CM Design Creates Shade Structure at Starfire Discovery Camp in Shenzhen

CM Design has completed a canopy design at the Starfire Discovery Camp in the Dapeng New District of Shenzhen, China. The project, covering 495 square meters, was finished in 2026 and photographed by Weiqi Jin. The camp is an outdoor practice base that integrates inquiry-based education, agro-tourism, and leisure experiences. It is located adjacent to the Dongshan Temple, with Dapeng Fortress and Jiaochangwei to the west. To meet diverse outdoor needs, the property planned to add a covered space next to existing old buildings, serving both as shade and rain shelter. The design team includes Chen Danping, Qiu Chen, Zhu Liyin, Mao Qingji, and Zhao Shujie (intern). The construction was carried out by Shenzhen Jiangxin Jianzao Engineering Co., Ltd. and Dongguan Chenxin Decoration Engineering Co., Ltd. The project falls under the category of installations and structures.
