Claroa Gallery Opens in San Juan de Alicante with Collective Exhibition

Alfonso Sánchez, director of Claroa Gallery, announced the opening of a new contemporary art space in San Juan de Alicante on July 9, 2026. The gallery, born from the couple's private collection (Colección Claroa), aims to fill a gap in Alicante's art scene by offering professional artist representation and high-level programming. Its inaugural exhibition, 'Intuición, forma y presencia,' curated by Óscar García García, features eight represented artists: Paula Blanco (sculpture), Ángel Celada (painting), María Cobas (painting), Stefan Heyer (painting), Kribi Heral (painting), Alejandro Pastor (painting), Juan Carlos Rayas (sculpture), and Ana Rod (sculpture). The gallery's artistic vision is influenced by the poetic philosophy of María Zambrano, whose namesake street houses the gallery. Sánchez emphasizes a global reach, planning participation in four national art fairs in 2027 and an international fair by 2028, alongside a residency program for emerging artists. The gallery seeks to connect with local entrepreneurs and institutional collectors in the Mediterranean region while maintaining an international scope.
