Citygroup Launches Fourth Annual Poots Competition

Citygroup has announced its fourth annual Poots Competition, an open call for design proposals targeting the interstitial stepped zone between the sidewalk and the collective's indoor space, affectionately dubbed The Poots. Participants are invited to reimagine this area as a landscape, dunescape, playscape, wetscape, dancescape, or ratscape—emphasizing communal conviviality and respite from sidewalk bustle. Selected participants will receive a background document to anchor their design schemes and a small stipend. All proposals must be submitted by September 6 to be featured in an exhibition at Citygroup, followed by a series of events and performances on the Poots throughout the fall.
