Citic Transforms 1929 Luciano Kulczewski House in Providencia into Casa Emilio Delporte

architecture-design · 2026-10-14

Citic has completed the regeneration of a historic house originally designed in 1929 by architect Luciano Kulczewski within the Población Cooperativa Arturo Prat in Providencia, Santiago, Chile. The project, titled Casa Emilio Delporte, covers 140 m² and was carried out in 2022, with Citic serving as lead team and office of architecture. Curated by Valentina Díaz, the intervention is described by the project team as an architectural journey rooted in the biology of love, premised on the idea that a true home is an inhabiting in harmony between its residents and the ecological niche that shelters them. The result is characterized as a "house for conversation." Photography of the completed work was produced by Ignacio Squella. Suppliers and brands used in the project include CHC, VELUX Group, BIOAISLÁN, LEDSTUDIO, MADESUR and MK. The work falls under the categories of residential architecture, houses and reconversion, and reworks a heritage structure tied to Kulczewski, a key figure in Chilean architecture.
