Circle13 Brings Pétanque, Basque Pintxos and Low-ABV Cocktails to a London Fields Railway Arch

architecture-design · 2026-10-18

Circle13, a fresh bar at 369-370 Mentmore Terrace in London E8 3SD, is founded by Marc Sarton Du Jonchay, known for his work at A Bar with Shapes for a Name and New York's Gage & Tollner, along with former pétanque player Monty Quaia. The spot boasts indoor and outdoor pétanque courts, Basque dishes, and a drink selection focused on low- and no-ABV highballs. Interior designer Joseph Stone drew inspiration from aerial views of silver balls on gravel, using earthy materials and sandy tiles. Quaia aims for "rebellious simplicity," challenging the authenticity of social venues. Chef Sean Donnelly offers pintxos like pork belly skewers, with non-alcoholic cocktails at £6 and low-ABV options at £8.50.
