Cinzia Battistel's Visionary Landscapes at Fano's Atelier Otium e Negotium

The exhibition 'Marche, l’equilibrio del panorama' by Cinzia Battistel, extended until July 9 at Atelier Otium e Negotium in Fano, reimagines the Marche landscape as a mental and chromatic construction rather than a mere view. Born from Passaggi Festival, the show presents fields, hills, sea, and rural architecture as recomposed color fields—pink, lilac, turquoise, green, blue—that evoke emotional interiors. Battistel's work is compared to David Hockney's vibrant, anti-naturalistic landscapes and Gillian Ayres' autonomous color energy, yet retains a softer, Mediterranean lyricism. The artist, with a background in illustration, synthesizes landscape into rhythmic, almost musical compositions. The title refers to a balance not just geographical but perceptual: the painting becomes an organism to traverse, not a distant panorama. Battistel avoids nostalgia or picturesque illustration, instead offering a contemporary vision where color organizes the image and the Marche region is transfigured into lyrical space.
