Cindy Bernhard and Vadim Pugin Solo Shows at Plato Gallery

From June 4 to July 11, 2026, Plato Gallery in New York is showcasing two solo exhibitions: Cindy Bernhard: Broken Vessels and Vadim Pugin: The Walled Garden. Bernhard's display includes eight expansive paintings that delve into themes of spiritual disconnection and the body as a vessel, drawing inspiration from St. John of the Cross’s 'Dark Night of the Soul.' These artworks feature gold leaf, fractures, and purification symbols. Meanwhile, Pugin's exhibition merges ceramics, sound, video, and fabric in a 'Cyber Baroque' setting, critiquing surveillance capitalism and algorithmic governance, with the title alluding to the 'walled garden' ecosystems of advertising tech. Pugin, a former ad-tech expert, employs ceramic mascarons and interactive elements to reveal attention manipulation. Both exhibitions are located on the ground floor of Plato, close to the New Museum.
