London-based filmmaker Will Norman, under the alias Christopher Notlan, has created 'The Oddersy', a micro-budget parody of Christopher Nolan's 'The Odyssey'. The film, shot entirely on a 2009 iMac webcam, premiered at Close-Up Cinema in London and gained viral attention on Instagram. Norman plays a pretentious director who claims he always wanted to shoot on iMacs, and the cast wears costume-shop outfits with brush heads on football helmets. The plot reimagines Homer's Odyssey with Helen of Troy as 'Helen of Tottenham'. Norman discussed the technical challenges, including the iMac's lag and software update interruptions, in an interview with It's Nice That. The project is a humorous yet touching homage to DIY filmmaking, contrasting with the billion-dollar budget of Nolan's film.
