Christoph Hefti's First Solo Museum Show at Museum für Gestaltung Zürich

exhibition · 2026-07-14

From July 10, 2026, to January 3, 2027, the Museum für Gestaltung Zürich will host 'Christoph Hefti: The Missing Cat und andere textile Storys,' marking the inaugural solo exhibition of Swiss textile designer Christoph Hefti, born in 1967. Renowned for his craftsmanship and narrative approach, Hefti transitioned from working with fashion brands like Balenciaga and Dries Van Noten to specializing in rugs, where he expertly manages both material and design. The exhibit features hand-knotted rugs crafted in Nepal using traditional Tibetan knotting techniques, alongside textile prints and ceramics with ethereal themes. Curated by Nora Wüthrich, it also includes sketches, sample cards, and a film that delves into Hefti's artistic journey. Since 2015, he has partnered with the fair-trade label STEP.
