Christina Mackie Leads CSAV Workshop at Fondazione Ratti, Como
The 24th CSAV – Artists’ Research Laboratory summer workshop commenced on July 2, 2018, at the Fondazione Antonio Ratti in Como, under the guidance of British artist Christina Mackie. Entitled "How to Begin," the workshop will continue until July 25, featuring 18 artists selected from a pool of over 300 applicants, such as Yusef Audeh, Simon Belleau, and Joe Brown. It delves into the conceptual phase before creating art, with insights from Chris Fite-Wassilak and Kate Briggs. Additionally, Mackie's solo exhibition "People Powder" is set to open on July 19 at the church of San Francesco in Como, highlighting "Yellow Machines" and new site-specific pieces, inspired by Canadian nature, Emily Carr, and early Renaissance artists.
