Chloé's Studded Talis Clog Brings Fairytale Lore to the Autumn/Winter 2026 Collection

other · 2026-10-23

Chemena Kamali's Chloé has released the Talis studded leather clog, a raised slip-on from the Autumn/Winter 2026 collection now available to buy. The shoe carries an almond-shaped toe and black leather embellished with floral metal studs, a nod to the prairie motifs associated with Kamali's boho vision for the house. The clog itself traces to the Middle Ages, when the footwear was carved from a single block of wood for farmers, fishermen, miners and factory workers. It acquired distinct names across Europe — le sabot in France and Belgium, lo zoccolo in Italy, de klomp in the Netherlands, where klompendansen, or clog dancing, is a named tradition. The shoe also surfaces in European folklore: tales gathered by the Brothers Grimm, Carlo Collodi's 1881 serialised novel Pinocchio, in which the title character wears shoes of tree bark, and Hans Christian Andersen's The Red Shoes, where a clog precedes the fateful red slippers. Chloé's version is pitched as sturdy and easy to slip on, with room for a thick seasonal sock.
