Chillida Leku Explores Geometric Volumes in Eduardo Chillida's Work with Larry Bell and Nora Aurrekoetxea
The exhibition "Eduardo Chillida: Cuerpos geométricos" is currently on display at Chillida Leku in Hernani, Spain, showcasing the works of Larry Bell and Nora Aurrekoetxea. This presentation highlights Chillida's artistic journey from his plaster sculptures of the late 1940s to his architectural endeavors, focusing on geometric forms like spheres and cubes. Among the featured pieces is Bell's TRIOLITH D (2020), a glass sculpture that changes appearance based on the viewer's perspective, and Aurrekoetxea's aulki bat (2019), which explores the relationship between body and space through macramé. The exhibition, which includes 40 artworks, will also see the creation of a new piece by Aurrekoetxea and is open until 26 October. Estela Solana and Mikel Chillida discuss Chillida's intention to transform spatial experience and the role of geometry in spatial exploration.
