Chelsi Banks: From Fashion Twitter to Real-Life Style

At just 19 years old, Chelsi Banks from Birmingham, Alabama, honed her fashion skills through digital platforms. By the age of 13, she was managing modeling discussions on Instagram, where she implemented guidelines that included fashion quizzes. Inspired by Eastern European models from the 2000s, she emulated Karlie Kloss's style. During the COVID-19 pandemic, her wardrobe shifted to '90s looks influenced by Emma Chamberlain, later incorporating lace and corsets. As the sole Black student at her school, she found support in her online network. By her sophomore year, she sported four-and-a-half-inch Mary Jane platforms, created outfit videos, and established a fashion club. Currently, she studies apparel merchandising and journalism at Auburn University, where she oversees the campus fashion magazine Swatch and analyzes AI's influence on fashion.
