Chain + Siman Completes Casa Ani, a Gabled Weekend House in Valle de Bravo, Mexico

architecture-design · 2026-10-01

Casa Ani, a weekend home spanning 689 square meters, was completed by the Mexican architecture firm Chain + Siman in 2025, located in Valle de Bravo near Mexico City. The residence showcases a gabled design that merges a stone-and-timber structure with a modern three-gabled black metal volume. Visitors enter through the largest glass gable, leading to social spaces beneath A-frame roofs and expansive windows. A black-steel fireplace anchors the living room, which overlooks outdoor seating and a swimming pool. Bedrooms are housed in a two-story stone building featuring a large window that highlights a double-height area. The landscape, crafted by Pedro Sánchez Paisajismo, includes olive trees and an orchard, and the project is equipped with solar panels for energy independence. Photography by Rafael Gamo.
