Chagall Couture: Student Costumes Inspired by Chagall's Painted and Engraved Work at Musée National Marc Chagall, Nice
From 10 October 2026 to 23 May 2027, the Musée National Marc Chagall in Nice will showcase 76 costumes and headpieces created by students from Lycée des Coteaux. These students, specializing in stage costume within the diplôme des métiers d’art program, dedicated two years to interpreting Chagall’s artwork through fabric. The exhibition is divided into two sections: one inspired by Dead Souls and Message biblique, and the other focusing on Fables de La Fontaine engravings. Influences include the Message biblique cycle, engravings for Dead Souls and Fables, as well as the stained-glass panel from La Rosace bleue. The museum, located at Av. du Docteur Ménard, 06000 Nice, is open daily except Tuesdays, with admission priced at €12 and a reduced rate of €10.
