Centre Pompidou's mobile museum MuMo stops in Marseille with 'Pompidou Circus'

While the Centre Pompidou in Paris remains closed for renovations, its mobile museum MuMo (Musée Mobile) will bring a selection of works from the Musée national d’art moderne to Marseille on July 25–26, 2026. The exhibition, titled 'Pompidou Circus,' features pieces by Henri Matisse, Marc Chagall, Raoul Dufy, Camille Bombois, and Roman Cieslewicz. The truck, organized into three spaces—loggia, exhibition hall, and alcove—will be stationed at Parc Chanot. In addition to the exhibition, the program includes workshops on Matisse's papiers découpés and a virtual reality experience created by the Fondation Art Explora. The MuMo project, supported by the Fondation Art Explora and the French Ministry of Culture, has collaborated with the Centre Pompidou since 2022. It aims to make art accessible to communities outside traditional exhibition circuits. The initiative builds on a previous stop in 2023 in front of Marseille's Hôtel de Ville.
