Cece Fein-Hughes, the west London-based designer known for talismanic enamel jewelry, has created a miniature signet ring for her newborn daughter, Posie. The ring, featuring a rosebud motif, is paired with a matching ring for Fein-Hughes herself, depicting the same rose in full bloom, symbolizing the growth of mother and daughter. Fein-Hughes, whose clients include Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, Margot Robbie, and Jacob Elordi, designed the ring during her pregnancy, drawing inspiration from the Victorian 'language of flowers' and the symbolic jewelry exchanged by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. The signet face measures just 6mm by 8mm with a 2mm band, and Fein-Hughes plans to preserve it as a tiny portrait of her daughter's infancy. She also plans to create additional rings for Posie as she grows, each representing a different chapter of her life. The designer's fascination with symbolism and folklore stems from stories told by her grandmother during her upbringing on Dartmoor's moorlands. Bespoke signet rings, lockets, and charms are a significant part of her business, with mothers often commemorating births through such pieces. Fein-Hughes dresses her daughter in traditional children's brands like Pepa London, Tartine et Chocolat, and Bonpoint, which complement the ring's old-world charm.
