Cavalier Galleries Marks 40th Anniversary With New York Exhibition Featuring Warhol and Maritime Art
In 2026, Cavalier Galleries will mark its 40th anniversary, having been established by Ronald Cavalier Jr. in downtown Stamford, Connecticut, in 1986. To launch the gallery, he initially secured funding through a credit card, facing years of challenges before successfully opening additional locations in New York, Greenwich, Nantucket, and Palm Beach. From May 19 to July 10, 2026, the New York flagship will host special programming for the anniversary, showcasing Andy Warhol's portrait of Bianca Jagger alongside maritime works by Shane Couch and Patrick O'Brien, as well as sculptures by Joy Brown and Bjørn Skaarup. Earlier that year, the gallery featured "Modern Marine Masters," a juried exhibition with over 30 participating artists, highlighting its dedication to artists and local art communities.
