CAV GT MkII: 800-hp carbon fiber restomod honors GT40 legacy

Cape Advanced Vehicles (CAV) has introduced the GT MkII, a limited-edition restomod supercar drawing inspiration from the Ford GT40, crafted in Cape Town, South Africa. This vehicle boasts a carbon fiber composite exterior and is powered by a twin-supercharged 4.2-liter V8 engine that generates 800 hp and 649 lb-ft of torque. It can sprint from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.0 seconds and achieves a maximum speed exceeding 204 mph. Buyers can choose from three transmission types: a standard six-speed single-clutch semi-automatic, a dual-clutch option, or a traditional three-pedal manual. With all-wheel drive, KW Variant 4 dampers, Brembo brakes featuring eight-piston front calipers, active aerodynamics, and various driving modes, only forty units will be produced globally, celebrating the 60th anniversary of Ford's 1-2-3 finish at Le Mans in 1966. CAV has created over 220 GT40 replicas in nearly thirty years. The GT MkII maintains the GT40's classic silhouette while incorporating modern enhancements like swan-wing doors and a more aggressive front design. Its chassis is a blend of aluminum and carbon fiber, with suggestions of Audi R8 components. Twenty of these cars will showcase a Miles Blue Metallic and orange color scheme.
