Castor Place: Ex warehouse in Piraeus becomes cultural space

In the heart of Piraeus, Athens' historic port, a 20th-century warehouse has been transformed into a multifunctional cultural space named Castor Place. Designed by architect Andreas Kostopoulos, founder of Manhattan Projects New York City (MPNYC), the renovation preserves the building's layered history while adapting it for performing arts, exhibitions, and events. The project is part of a broader urban regeneration of the port district, where old warehouses and new contemporary art galleries are redefining Piraeus' cultural identity. The name Castor Place references the Dioscuri myth, emphasizing duality and the balance between historical and contemporary elements.
