Castello Svevo di Trani unveils interactive multimedia installation by Dotdotdot
The Castello Svevo in Trani, a 13th-century castle built by Frederick II of Swabia, has inaugurated a new multimedia installation designed by the studio Dotdotdot. The project, part of a broader conservation and digitalization strategy coordinated by architect Anita Guarnieri, received €1.5 million in PNRR funding. Three permanent installations explore the castle's architecture, a medieval bestiary, and its relationship with the sea. Interactive features include a touch table for 3D exploration, a virtual archive of 50 artifacts, a projection narrated by actor Fabrizio Vidale, and a generative sea animation in the stables. The installation also opened a new walkway and the Porta a mare, offering an unprecedented view of Trani Cathedral.
