Casa Yoshi by AR Arquitetos: A Wooden Structure on Brick Terraces

Casa Yoshi, a residential project by Brazilian firm AR Arquitetos, was completed in 2024. The house is located on a sloped site that descends towards a forest, and the design takes advantage of this topography by reshaping the ground into solid brick levels that accommodate social spaces. Above this, a slender laminated timber structure supports a horizontal roof plane that appears to float lightly and continuously at street level. The project was curated by Susanna Moreira and photographed by Fran Parente. The principal architects are Marina Acayaba and Juan Pablo Rosenberg, with a project team including Ana Flávia Piacentini, Bianca Rimer, Franco Peviani, and Murillo Felizardo.
