Casa Portola Valley by Schwartz and Architecture

architecture-design · 2026-08-26

Schwartz and Architecture has completed Casa Portola Valley, a residential project in Portola Valley, California, United States, in 2021. The 3,365-square-foot house was designed to surprise by giving its facade a lively, welcoming character, deviating from the typical ranch-style home exterior. The project was led by principal architect Wyatt Arnold, with design team members Wyatt Arnold and Laura Huylebroeck. The general contractor was Portola Valley Builders, and Gregory Paul Wallace provided structural engineering. Photographs were taken by Bruce Damonte. The project was curated by Susanna Moreira and published on ArchDaily in Spanish. The design aims to make the house's new 'face' feel as if it suddenly comes to life and welcomes visitors as they approach.
