Casa Neeti-Lime: A Climate-Responsive Home in Gujarat by DINTERPLAY ARCHITECTS

DINTERPLAY ARCHITECTS has completed Casa Neeti-Lime in Palanpur, Gujarat, India, a 560 m² residence that reinterprets traditional construction wisdom through passive environmental strategies and natural materials. The project, curated by Miwa Negoro, derives its name from the Sanskrit term 'Neeti,' meaning intention or guiding principle, reflecting a series of conscious design decisions responding to the warm, arid climate of northern Gujarat. Rather than treating lime as a mere finish, the architects employ it as a breathable construction system that enhances thermal comfort, craftsmanship, and architectural expression. The design integrates contemporary spatial planning with local materials and techniques, aiming to create a home that is both sustainable and contextually rooted. Key team members include lead architects Shreya Bhavsar and Krunal Patel, design team member Jeshika Patel, technical team member Soib Tai, project manager Jitendra Karnavat, and various consultants for structural, MEP, and facade work.
