Casa Marina: Yeyé Estudio Renovates 1972 Madrid Apartment with Retro Touches

Yeyé Estudio, under the direction of architect Paula Mena, has transformed Casa Marina, a 1972 apartment located in Madrid. This 63-square-meter renovation maximizes space by integrating communal areas with the outdoors while maintaining original features. The entrance was eliminated, and the kitchen was repurposed into a bedroom with an office space, resulting in a seamless living, dining, and kitchen area. A curved hallway improves flow, while the shower showcases burgundy tiles. The design juxtaposes warm wood cabinetry with steel fronts and microcement flooring. In the bathroom, burgundy tiles accentuate a pastel vanity paired with a green countertop. Original yellow cathedral glass was restored.
