Casa Maria by Gonzalo Rufin Arquitectos + Manuel Rufin Responds to Ravine on Matanzas Slope
Casa Maria, a 230-square-meter house designed by Gonzalo Rufin Arquitectos and Manuel Rufin, is situated on a slope descending toward the beach of Matanzas. The project, completed in 2025, derives its geometry from a natural ravine cutting through the site, establishing a right triangle with its longest edge parallel to the ravine. This configuration allows the main spaces to open toward the ocean. The design team includes Gonzalo Rufin and Manuel Rufin, with construction by Constructora Lemad, furniture and decoration by Muebles Valterra, and use of materials from Estudio CBF and Timber.
