Casa KatNap: Nutum Estudio's Contemporary Refuge on the Yucatán Dune in Sisal
Completed in 2023, Casa KatNap occupies 84 m² on the sand of Sisal, an old fishing and trading port on the Gulf of Mexico coast. Nutum Estudio designed the small dwelling as a contemporary refuge anchored in the fragile beauty of the Yucatán dune. Lead architects Sara Ferrer Inaebnit, Pablo Rivero Vallado and Josep Azuara Robles shaped the project, reached by a narrow path winding through exuberant native vegetation. There is no garden; there is beach. Valentina Díaz curated the presentation, Rodrigo Hermida photographed it, and GaiaDesign and Mesawa supplied products used in the architecture project, which ArchDaily published under its Houses category.
