Casa Galería by Sommet: A House Shaped by Topography in Santa Cruz de la Sierra

In Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia, the architectural firm Sommet has completed Casa Galería, a 571 m² residential project designed by a team led by Sebastián Fernández de Córdova and Erika Peinado Vaca Diez. The house, completed in 2025, is situated on a steeply sloping plot, and the design embraces the topography as a structuring element rather than a challenge. The natural section of the land dictates the placement of the house, organizes the program, and establishes varied relationships between interior spaces, vegetation, and the surrounding landscape. The project team includes designers Sandra Molteni, Jhanncarla Huayllani, Luis El-Hage, Carolina Chávez, and Andres Alcazar. Structural engineering was provided by Fernando Aragón Suárez, MEP engineering by Federico Ferrufino Cabrera, and electrical engineering by Reynaldo Cabrera Bejarano. The project utilized materials and products from Knauf, Aluminier, AutoCAD, and VASA. Photographs of the house were taken by Paul Renaud.
