Casa Ersland & Skeie: Knut Hjeltnes and Francesca Iarrusso Design 106 m² Home on Stavanger Rock Outcrop

A modest single-family residence, Casa Ersland & Skeie, has been designed by Knut Hjeltnes Architects in collaboration with Francesca Iarrusso, PhD. The project, completed in 2026, encompasses 106 m² and is situated in a semi-dense area of Stavanger, Norway. The site is defined by a large bedrock outcrop with a steep slope toward the street. The house was planned for a young couple with a small child. Photographs of the completed work were taken by Hugo Lütcherath. The project was curated by Nina Vuga and falls under the categories of Residential Architecture, Houses, and Residential Interiors. The design team includes lead architect Knut Hjeltnes and architect Francesca Iarrusso, PhD. The project description was submitted by the design team. The original article is available in English on ArchDaily. The house responds to its challenging topography, integrating with the natural rock formation while providing a compact living space for a family. The architecture balances the constraints of the steep site with the needs of a young family, resulting in a home that is both contextual and functional. The project was featured on ArchDaily's Spanish-language platform, highlighting its relevance in contemporary residential design.
