Casa elevada del suelo by nanometer architecture in Japan
Nanometer architecture, led by principals Atsumi Nonaka and Yuki Mitani, completed a 103 m² house in 2024 on a site that rises 5 meters from the front street to the back. The project, curated by Miwa Negoro and photographed by ToLoLo studio, faced constraints from a limited floor area ratio and client requirements for specific room dimensions and heights. The clients declined a garden due to maintenance concerns, but local green area regulations forced the architects to incorporate greenery, creating contradictions that shaped the design.
