Casa do Alpendre: A 250 m² House in Vila Franca de Xira by Vasco Burnay

Completed in 2024, Casa do Alpendre (also referred to as Casa del Porche) is a 250 m² residential project by Vasco Burnay Arquitectura, located on a vacant plot in the Quinta da Coutada urbanization of Vila Franca de Xira, Portugal. The area is noted for its architectural diversity and lack of uniform language, with a nearby industrial warehouse featuring large roofs and metal cladding facades. The project team includes curator Susanna Moreira, contractor Ladislau Construções, engineering firm Urpendium Engenharia & Construção Lda (responsible for structural, hydraulic, and thermal engineering), and landscape design by Jardim Digital.
