Casa del Lago: A Modern Lakeside Retreat in Western Poland
Ultra Architects has designed Casa del Lago, a 180-square-meter contemporary refuge on the shore of a lake in western Poland. The project, curated by Nina Vuga, explores the relationship between architecture, landscape, and local cultural traditions. The design team, including Anna Szewczyk, Roderyk Milik, Mateusz Jóźwiak, and Anna Winna, led by architects Marcin Kościuch and Tomasz Osięgłowski, drew inspiration from simple functional structures commonly found around lakes—boat sheds, storage rooms, and hangars for water sports equipment. Their honest forms and durable materials served as the starting point for a modern interpretation of a lakeside house. The project is categorized as residential architecture and is slated for completion in 2026.
