Casa de Vidro by Charlene Koetz Arquitetura: A Horizontal Glass House in Vila Prinstrop

Charlene Koetz Arquitetura has unveiled Casa de Vidro, a residential project in Vila Prinstrop, Brazil, slated for 2026. The 455-square-meter house is defined by a strong horizontal expression, with a cantilevered roof plane that appears to float over the volumes, creating sheltered areas and a sense of protection. Contrasting with the glass surfaces, volumes of natural stone anchor the structure to the terrain, while the glazing dissolves boundaries between interior and exterior, establishing a direct connection with the landscape. The project team includes principal architect Charlene Koetz, project team member Caroline Schilling, and coordinators Domi Müller and Liege Leiser. The construction is by Construtora Schwarzbold Ltda, with landscaping by Via Garden Paisagismo. Key suppliers include Tramontina, Axell Banheiras e SPA's, Castellar Lareiras, Deca, Lucendi, Saccaro, and Suvinil Tintas. Engineering and consulting are provided by Tieppo Aquecimento, Fixa Vidros, Elevato Acabamentos, and Pedras Xangri-Lá. The house is curated by Susanna Moreira and photographed by Lucas Strey.
