Casa Circular: Repurposed Shipping Containers Form Sustainable Home

Casa Circular, a single-family residence designed by architect Ignacio Muñoz, transforms six decommissioned refrigerated maritime containers into the structural backbone of the home. The project, curated by Valentina Díaz, is slated for completion in 2026 and covers an area of 355 square meters. The design team includes Ignacio Muñoz Bustamante and Juan Carlos Ávila, with Muñoz Bustamante serving as principal architect. General contracting is handled by Guerrero y Cornejo, while EnTe Arquitectos provides environmental sustainability engineering and consulting. Photographs of the project are by JAG Studio.
