Carlo Garzia's 50-Year Retrospective 'Belvedere' Opens in Carovigno, Puglia

An extensive retrospective showcasing the works of Italian photographer Carlo Garzia, named 'Belvedere', is currently exhibited at Galleria 32 in Carovigno, Puglia, running until September 13, 2026. Curated by Carmelo Cipriani and organized by Artes Punto di Svolta, this exhibition highlights Garzia's artistic journey from 1975 to today. Born in Bari in 1944, Garzia's style is shaped by surrealism and inspirations from figures such as Mario Cresci and Diane Arbus. Significant milestones in his career include his encounter with Cresci in the 1970s, the establishment of Spazio Immagine in 1978, and his involvement in Luigi Ghirri's 1984 exhibition 'Viaggio in Italia'. The display comprises five sections, featuring acclaimed series like 'Parigi', 'Persona', 'Maman/papa', 'Medicale', and 'Ripetizioni', alongside a notable image inspired by Buñuel's 'Un Chien Andalou'.
