Candy Bassas: dancing lights at Galerie Mellies, Detmold
From September 6 to October 25, 2026, Galerie Mellies in Detmold, Germany, will showcase "Dancing Lights," presented by Candy Bassas. An essay by Andreas Nitschke, translated by Catapult, accompanies the exhibition. Bassas, a Spanish artist and musician based in Berlin, merges oil painting with calligraphic ink, cyanotype, and monotype techniques. She completed her studies at Universität der Künste Berlin under David Schutter after earning her degree in costume design and illustration in Barcelona in 2016. Featured works include "Uncertain Sense of Liberty," "White Carnations," and "Mimosa." Notably, "Mimosa" and "White Carnations" are offered as fine art prints in limited editions of 10.
