CAMP collective wins Nam June Paik Art Center Prize, plans 2021 exhibition in South Korea

CAMP, an art collective established in 2007 by Shaina Anand, Ashok Sukumaran, and Sanjay Bhangar, has been awarded the 7th Nam June Paik Art Center Prize. They will receive KRW50,000,000 (£33,740) and an invitation for a solo exhibition at the Nam June Paik Art Center in Yongin, South Korea, in 2021. Renowned for their research and technology-driven practices from Mumbai, their works have been featured at prestigious venues such as MoMA, Tate Modern, and documenta. In their acceptance remarks, they honored Nam June Paik’s influence, highlighting themes of transnationalism and media specificity. The jury comprised Beck Jee-sook, Daniel Birnbaum, Dieter Daniels, Kim Seong Eun, and Eugene Tan, with Zoe Butt commending CAMP's innovative methods.
