exhibition · 2026-09-29

From September 25 to October 15, 2026, Camilla Alberti's headless jaguar sculpture, Cranegrura, will be showcased at the Istituto Italiano di Cultura di Città del Messico. Initially unveiled at Casa del Lago UNAM, the piece was created during a residency there before relocating to the venue in Coyoacán. This residency is part of the Premio Natura Naturans/Naturata, an exchange initiative between Italy and Mexico backed by various cultural organizations. The project delves into themes of nature, landscape, and environmental change. Alberti utilized local materials and Mesoamerican construction methods, emphasizing the jaguar's significance. The sculpture is designed to undergo physical changes due to environmental exposure, integrating deterioration into its essence. Photographs are credited to Mara Arteaga.
