CAMeC La Spezia Reconsiders Romanticism Through Contemporary Art
From April 11 to September 13, 2026, the CAMeC – Centro d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea in La Spezia, Italy, will host the group exhibition titled “Ripensando il Romanticismo nell’arte contemporanea,” curated by Elena Volpato. This exhibition explores Romanticism as a counter to modern superficiality, showcasing works from European luminaries such as Caspar David Friedrich, John Constable, and J.M.W. Turner, alongside contemporary creators like Giovanni Anselmo, Massimo Bartolini, Ian Kiaer, David Schutter, Linda Fregni Nagler, Pesce Khete, and Michele Tocca. Highlights include Anselmo’s “Entrare nell’opera” (1971) and an untitled piece by Pesce Khete (2022-2024).
