CADG Completes Haikou Workers' Activity Center on Hainan Island
Recently, the Haikou Workers' Activity Center (Workers' Cultural Palace), crafted by CADG, was finalized on Hainan Island in Haikou, China. This civic complex spans 29,215 m² and was completed in 2025, incorporating cultural, sports, and training facilities. Developed under the "Tree of Life" theme and structured as an "Ecological Settlement," it establishes a new standard for climate-sensitive public architecture in the region's warm, humid climate. The project was overseen by HAN Shuang, with Cui Kai as Principal Design Director and Liu Heng as Principal Architect. The design team features Yang Xi, Xu Feng, and others. Structural engineering was managed by Han Ling and Huo Wenying, while various specialists handled other aspects. The Haikou Federation of Trade Unions is the client. Schran Image and Ji Li provided photography. Beyond a civic complex, it serves as a community-focused, climate-adaptive urban oasis.
