Cadence Architects' House of Shadows in Bengaluru Features Reading Nooks for a Book-Loving Family
Cadence Architects has finalized the House of Shadows, a residence in Bengaluru, Karnataka, intended for a couple with two children returning from the USA. This home is designed to accommodate the husband’s parents and functions as a library. According to principal architect Smaran Mallesh, the use of a dark material palette, featuring a basalt stone foundation and a slatted timber exterior, allows the house to harmonize with its environment. The ground floor comprises a kitchen and living space, while the first floor contains private areas for both parents and children. An entertainment zone for kids is situated on the third level. The design incorporates local materials and contemporary techniques. Photography by Syam Sreesylam.
