BUZZ / Büro Ziyu Zhuang has completed two contrasting architectural projects in Ulanqab, China: Prairie Ark and Nomads' Beacon Tower. Prairie Ark is a low, horizontal structure partially embedded in the terrain, with a disc-like form following the land's slope and an open interior for exhibitions and community events. Nomads' Beacon Tower rises vertically from a small island on Laoli Lake, inspired by ancient beacon towers to serve as a landmark. Together, they create a dialogue between earth and horizon, shelter and signal.
