Bucci Quentin's Lobster Red Renovation Transforms Prato Flat

In the Pietà district of Prato, Tuscany, the studio bucci quentin has completed a 168-square-metre renovation of a 1970s first-floor flat, using lobster red as a controlled accent color rather than a dominant theme. The project, named 'The Lobster,' reorganizes the interior around subtraction, bespoke joinery, and a chromatic strategy that treats color as spatial signal. The entrance features floor-to-ceiling olive green millwork, while herringbone oak parquet runs continuously throughout. The kitchen is a fully custom-made lobster-red lacquered unit by aj interiors design, with a MIPA Seeds terrazzo floor that echoes the red in its aggregate. A resin staircase in the same tone connects the floors. Three bathrooms each pair a field color with lobster red accents using Vogue Materia handmade ceramic tiles. The living room includes a terrazzo fireplace surround that extends as a low shelf. The attic level combines a screening room, study, laundry-bathroom, and pocket terrace. The studio's approach treats joinery as architecture, with built-in cupboards and new openings creating a continuous spatial sequence. The project avoids decorative excess by restricting red to specific surfaces, distinguishing bucci quentin from broader trends in Tuscan interior design.
