This complex was built between 1971 and 1981 under the guidance of architects Renée Gailhoustet and Jean Renaudie. Gailhoustet, who died in 2023, was a prominent post-war female architect and initiated the renovation of Ivry-sur-Seine’s city center in 1969. She received the Architecture Prize from London's Royal Academy of Arts in 2022 and a Lifetime Achievement Award from the French Ministry of Culture.
