Bruce Nauman's Art Make-Up Shown in Girona Appliance Store
From July 2 through July 2025, Tien21, an appliance store in Girona's Santa Eugènia neighborhood, will feature Bruce Nauman's early video piece, Art Make-Up (1967-1968). This display is part of a project called Un museu fora del museu, which involves the Departament de Cultura de la Generalitat de Catalunya, MACBA, and Bòlit Centre d'Art Contemporani. The goal is to exhibit works from the MACBA collection in unusual places like libraries and markets. Art Make-Up shows Nauman applying different makeup colors to his face and torso, exploring the concept of identity. Curated by Martí Manen, the initiative includes about forty artworks across more than twenty locations in Catalonia. Bòlit will also present Desacuerdos, a 2004 interview with Manel Clot, at Biblioteca Pública Carles Rahola this fall.
